Facing the Sainte-Victoire Mountain, admired by Vasarely through Cézanne’s paintings, the Vasarely Foundation in Aix-en-Provence, architectonic center, represents Vasarely’s vision and commitment to « the polychromatic city of happiness ». Completed in 1976, it is made up of 16 hexagonal cells and showcases 44 monumental works. There are also two Vasarely museums in Hungary, one in his home town of Pecs and the other in Budapest. Both hold rare and priceless works.
